Brian STANISLAUS

On the 9th February 2001 the man affectionately known as “Broady” officially become the 7th St Marys player to play 200 games and the 11th St Marys player to be awarded player life membership of the AFLNT.

His achievements are many and he is possibly the greatest set kick for goal from 40 metres on any angle to grace the playing fields in the Northern Territory

He would have to rank among the all time greats of the game in the NT as either a ruck rover or half forward flanker. He has few peers when it comes to kicking goals.

In his 256 games he kicked an incredible 772 goals and ranks second only to the great St Marys full forward Dennis DUNN (817 goals)

He kicked 7 goals or more 19 times with his best haul of 13 twice against North Darwin (Palmerston) in Rd 5 of the 1993/94 season and again in Rd 16 of the 1995/96 season

He also holds the record for the most number of career goals for St Marys in the U/18’s with121 in 30 games

Broady also runs second to the “Golden Greek” at St Marys with the number of NTFL rep Games which total 14 and was a member of the NTFL Arafura Games gold Medal team in 1995 and 1997

He has been an 8 time Premiership Player 1989/90, 1991/92, 1993/94, 1994/95, 1995/96, 1996/97, 2002/03 and 2004/05.He has also played in the grand finals of 1992/93,1997/98 and 1998/99

Broady has also been St Marys Best and Fairest winner on 2 occasions 1994/95 and 1997/98, leading goal kicker on 7 occasions: 1993/94,1994/95,1995/96,1996/97,1997/98, 1998/99 and 2005/06 he was also Captain for the 1997/98 and 1998/99 seasons.

Interstate Brian played 9 games for East Perth in 1990. He also played for West Adelaide and Port Adelaide in the SANFL and also played one VFL/AFL game with Sydney Swans/South Melbourne in 1991
