The son of the late St Marys Champion Sebastian Rioli

Shannon started his football career as a St Marys Junior in the U/14’s.In 2004/05 where he was awarded the Best and Fairest for that year. In 2005/06 he played in the U/16’s premiership side coach by his mentor and Dad and from there quickly advanced to the St Marys League side in 2006/07 under Coach Warren Campbell.

Shannon has played in 5 St Marys premiership sides 2007/08, 2009/10, 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2015/16.

He was also a member of the St Marys Grand Final side of 2010/11 and 2014/15

In 2007/08 he was awarded the coaches trophy and was the NTFL Rising Star for 2007.

In 2009/10 Shannon was runner up for the St Marys club Best and Fairest to Karl Lohde. He also was awarded the prestigious Noel Long Trophy of “Success through perserverance” trophy in that year.

The following two years in 2010/11 and 2011/12 was awarded the most consistent trophy player and in 2012/13 won the big one being crowned the St Marys club Best and Fairest.

In 2013/14 he reached the 100 game milestone on Grand Final day against Wanderers and St Marys celebrated it by winning the flag. His total of games for St Marys so far is 128 and he has become the 41st player in St Marys history to kick 100 goals where his total at the moment stands at 118 as at the end of season 2015/16.

Shannon also plays for NT Thunder football club but while he does this as is their rule for every player he is limited to playing only 10 games plus finals each year for St Marys.

Shannon played in NT Thunder’s first premiership and the cross conference Grand Finals in 2011

He was also a member of the NT Thunder 2015 premiership team that defeated Aspley Hornets by one point

So far He has played 71 games with NT Thunder and kicked 35 Goals to end of NEAFL season 2015

He also played in a Foxtel Cup match against East Perth in 2011.

In 2010 he had a season with South Fremantle where he played 11 Reserve Grade games.

He will be come a life member of the NTFL when he takes the field against Wanderers on the 19/03/2016 in Saturdays Grand Final
